LG UltraGear OLED 45GR95QE-B

The LG UltraGear 45GR95QE-B is LG’s 45-inch-class, 800R curved 240 Hz OLED gaming monitor introduced in 2023. It offers 3440 × 1440, 0.03 ms response, 98.5% DCI-P3, G-SYNC Compatible and FreeSync Premium, PiP, a remote and rear RGB lighting. It is immersive for gaming; low pixel density and OLED text clarity are limits for office work.

45GR95QE-B: 44.5-inch 800R curved OLED, 3440 × 1440, 240 Hz. The 2024 45GS95QE-B, the 5K2K 45GX950A-B and the 39-inch 39GS95QE are separate models.

Specifications

SpecificationValue
Panel44.5-inch (113 cm) OLED, 800R curve; 3440 × 1440 (21:9); 0.303 mm pixel pitch

800R means the screen curves like part of a circle with an 800 mm radius, wrapping the edges around your view. At 45 inches, 1440p gives low pixel density: up close, text and fine detail look less sharp than on a 27-inch 1440p screen.

Refresh rate and response time240 Hz; 0.03 ms (GtG)

240 Hz shows very smooth motion when a game approaches 240 frames per second, which needs a powerful graphics card. 0.03 ms grey-to-grey describes the fast transition of OLED pixels; it is not total input lag.

Brightness and contrast200 cd/m² typical (160 minimum); typical contrast 1,500,000:1

LG’s typical brightness refers to a full-screen SDR image; with self-emissive OLED pixels black switches fully off, giving very high contrast.

ColourDCI-P3 98.5% (typical, CIE1976), 90% minimum; 1.07 billion colours; factory calibrated; hardware calibration ready

Hardware calibration writes settings into the monitor itself through LG Calibration Studio, so the colour setup stays with the monitor even if the computer changes.

HDR and syncHDR10, HDR effect; NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, AMD FreeSync Premium, VRR

G-SYNC Compatible and FreeSync Premium match the refresh rate to the graphics card’s frame rate to reduce tearing and stutter. HDR effect is a picture mode that adds HDR-like contrast to SDR content in software; it is not real HDR.

Gaming featuresBlack Stabilizer, Dynamic Action Sync, crosshair, FPS counter, user-defined key, auto input switch

Black Stabilizer brightens detail in dark scenes; Dynamic Action Sync is a mode that reduces input lag.

PiPPicture-in-picture (PiP)

PiP shows a second input in a small window over the main picture, for example a PC and a console at the same time. LG does not list PbP (side-by-side split) for this model.

Connections2 × HDMI, 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), 1 × USB 3.0 upstream, 2 × USB 3.0 downstream, optical digital audio out (S/PDIF), 4-pole headphone out (sound + mic)

DSC (Display Stream Compression) compresses high-bandwidth signals such as 3440 × 1440 at 240 Hz over DisplayPort 1.4 without visible loss. With the USB upstream connected, the monitor’s USB-A ports act as a hub for the computer. A headset with a mic plugs into the 4-pole jack; DTS Headphone:X adds virtual surround. No built-in speakers are listed.

Stand and mountingTilt, height and swivel adjustment; 100 × 100 mm VESA wall mount
Lighting and controlHexagon RGB lighting on the back; remote control; OnScreen Control and Dual Controller software
PowerExternal adapter; 100–240 V; 129 W typical, 160 W max, under 0.5 W in sleep
In the boxDisplayPort cable, USB A-to-B cable, remote control

Box contents can vary by country.

Strengths and limitations

  • GamesRadar+ used the monitor for several weeks of gaming. The 800R curve and 240 Hz made it easier to spot opponents at the edge of the screen in fast games such as Overwatch 2 and Halo Infinite, and HDR and OLED contrast were impressive in Cyberpunk 2077. On an RTX 4060 system, fluctuating frame rates combined with the curve made the reviewer dizzy; lowering settings and enabling DLSS 3 fixed it. Sitting close, the pixel density of 1440p at 45 inches fell short of the reviewer’s 4K monitor. Two people were recommended for setup; the stand adjustments felt slightly stiff and the headphone jack sat in an awkward spot under the bottom edge. The remote, rear RGB lighting and OLED Care menu were praised.

Owner experiences and issues

  • Two owner reviews visible on Coolblue Belgium separate gaming from office use: Nic (16 March 2023) praises the deep blacks, 240 Hz and picture, noting LG’s 98.5% DCI-P3 figure is lower than the shop’s 99% claim. Bjorn Ongenae (9 October 2023) finds the curve immersive for gaming and the two-function remote handy, but says text is not always sharp because of the OLED subpixel layout and lack of ClearType support, so he does not recommend it for word processing or desk work.
