LG UltraGear OLED 27GS95QE-B

The 27GS95QE-B is LG’s 2024 27-inch-class QHD OLED gaming monitor. It offers 240 Hz, 0.03 ms response time, DisplayHDR True Black 400, HDMI 2.1 inputs and a stand with height, tilt, swivel and pivot. Owners praise the colours and contrast; using lower brightness to reduce burn-in risk is a recurring theme.

27GS95QE-B (Y24), 26.5-inch QHD 240 Hz OLED gaming monitor. The earlier 27GR95QE-B and the 480 Hz 27GX790A-B are separate models.

Specifications

SpecificationValue
Panel26.5-inch (67.3 cm) OLED; 2560 × 1440; 16:9; 0.2292 mm pixel pitch

Although sold in the 27-inch class, the viewable diagonal is 26.5 inches. OLED lights each pixel itself, so there is no backlight bleed.

Speed240 Hz; 0.03 ms (GtG) response time

GtG is the time a pixel takes to change from one grey level to another; lower values reduce motion blur.

Brightness and contrast275 nits typical, 250 nits minimum; contrast 1,500,000:1 typical, 1,200,000:1 minimum

LG quotes 275 nits for a full-white screen (100% average picture level); small bright areas can be brighter.

ColourDCI-P3 98.5% typical (90% minimum, CIE1976); 1.07 billion colours; factory calibrated; hardware calibration ready

A printed calibration report is included. Hardware calibration uses LG Calibration Studio with a compatible meter.

HDR and syncHDR10; VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400; NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible; AMD FreeSync Premium Pro; VRR

Variable refresh rate matches the monitor to the graphics card’s frame rate, reducing tearing and stutter.

ConnectionsHDMI 2.1; 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC); USB 3.0 (1 upstream, 2 downstream); optical audio out (SPDIF); 4-pole headphone out, DTS Headphone:X

DSC compression helps carry QHD at 240 Hz over DisplayPort 1.4. There is no USB-C video input.

Owner experiences and issues

  • In Dutch reviews on Coolblue, Eelco says colours and contrast are much better than on his old TN monitor, especially when watching films. He uses low brightness against the burn-in risk of static images on OLED and does not use the monitor for web browsing; on his computer without a graphics card he cannot go above 120 Hz. Jeffrey praises the difference from IPS, the colours in a dark room and the small stand base, and advises against direct sunlight.

Coolblue (Netherlands), most helpful of 13 reviews; one review of the 27GX790A-B was excluded. Eelco’s 120 Hz limit comes from his own computer.
