The Galaxy Z Fold5 is Samsung’s 2023 book-style foldable, with a 7.6-inch inner and a 6.2-inch cover screen, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy and a triple rear camera; a new hinge lets the halves close without a gap. Independent testing liked the thinner, lighter body and criticised the unchanged cameras and narrow cover screen.

TechRadar liked the body that closes flat, about 11 g lighter than the Z Fold4, and a slightly less pronounced crease that can still be seen and felt. Cameras unchanged from the Z Fold4, the weak 4 MP under-display camera, no S Pen in the box and a cramped keyboard on the narrow 6.2-inch cover screen that led to frequent typos were negatives.
