Up to 2000 nits and down to 1 nit. Apple says the wide-angle OLED looks up to 40% brighter when viewed at an angle, making the watch easier to read without raising the wrist.

Sapphire crystal is a glass material that strongly resists scratching. The 44 mm version has a 1.4-inch, 450 × 450 screen.

The electrical sensor enables ECG recordings and the optical sensor continuous heart rate. Availability of health features varies by country.

Suitable for shallow-water activities such as swimming, not for scuba diving or high-velocity water sports. The depth gauge is for snorkelling down to 6 metres.

This version has no cellular connection, so calls and data away from the phone need Wi-Fi. Location uses only the L1 band; there is no dual-frequency GPS.

Fast charging uses the included magnetic fast charger to USB-C cable; the adapter is sold separately.

WPC is the body behind the Qi wireless charging standard. The 44 mm version has a 410 mAh battery.

An iPhone is required for setup and use; it does not work with Android phones.

The watch works with phones running Android 8.0 or later with more than 1.5 GB of RAM; it cannot be used with an iPhone.

The electrical heart signal is used for ECG and bioelectrical impedance for body composition estimates; availability of these features varies by country.

This version has no LTE; the LTE version is sold separately.
