The Katana 15 HX B14WFK-487 is the European RTX 5060 Laptop GPU version of MSI’s budget-minded 15.6-inch gaming laptop. It has a Core i7-14650HX, an 8 GB GDDR7 GPU that reaches 115 W with Dynamic Boost, a 144 Hz Full HD IPS-level display, 16 GB of DDR5 in two slots and a 512 GB NVMe SSD; the USB-C port supports DisplayPort and 100 W charging. An independent review found gaming performance strong for the price even at 1440p, and criticised fan noise, the plastic chassis and short battery life while gaming.

On CGMagazine’s B14WFK sample with an i7-14650HX, RTX 5060 and 16 GB DDR5, Cyberpunk 2077 stayed above 60 fps at 1440p Ultra without DLSS or frame generation and above 40 fps with ray tracing; DLSS Performance with 4× frame generation averaged 167 fps. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle ran above 60 fps on High. No uncomfortable heat reached the palm rest while gaming, but in Extreme mode the fans run constantly and loudly enough to be heard on voice calls. Battery lasted 2–4 hours gaming and 5–7 hours of everyday work with efficient settings. Negatives: fan noise, a plastic chassis, average speakers and a barrel-plug charger.
