Specifications

SpecificationValue
ProcessorIntel Core i9-13980HX; 24 cores (8 performance + 16 efficiency), 2.2 GHz base, up to 5.6 GHz, 36 MB cache

Intel lists 55 W base and 157 W maximum turbo power for this processor; the laptop’s cooling determines the real sustained power.

GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, 8 GB GDDR6; ROG Boost 2420 MHz at 140 W (115 W + 25 W Dynamic Boost)

ASUS adds a 50 MHz factory overclock to NVIDIA’s 2370 MHz. 115 W is the card’s sustained limit; Dynamic Boost shifts 25 W to the GPU when the CPU load is low. The GPU is soldered and cannot be upgraded.

DisplayROG Nebula: 16-inch QHD+ 16:10 (2560 × 1600), IPS-level, anti-glare; 240 Hz, 3 ms, 100% DCI-P3, G-Sync, Pantone Validated

G-Sync matches the display refresh to the GPU’s frame rate to reduce tearing. 100% DCI-P3 means it covers the cinema colour space; Pantone validation refers to factory colour calibration.

Graphics switchingMUX Switch + NVIDIA Advanced Optimus

The MUX switch connects the internal display directly to the NVIDIA GPU; Advanced Optimus can switch without a restart.

Memory32 GB (2 × 16 GB) DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM; 2 slots, up to 32 GB, dual channel

The modules are replaceable, but ASUS gives 32 GB as the maximum for this model; both slots come filled.

Storage2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD; 2 × M.2 PCIe slots

The second M.2 slot is for an additional SSD.

For G-SYNC on an external monitor use the USB‑C port; on this SKU the Thunderbolt 4 port is not listed with G-SYNC. The 2.5G LAN of the RTX 4080 models is not on this model.

Owner experiences and issues

  • Owners praise gaming performance, the silent/performance/turbo fan modes, the non-reflective screen, the keyboard and RGB lighting; several wrote that it stays cool and quiet even under load. Weight comes up several times as a drawback, and one person found battery life weak. Failures are individual reports: not powering on within the first day (two people), freezes, a black screen and image glitches fixed by a graphics reset after a year, a motherboard failure after 17 months, and duplicate-display mode failing on an external screen (one person on two units). One owner wrote that the adapter cord is short. An owner told RAM could go to 64 GB found the limit is 32 GB. These reports do not indicate a failure rate.
